Default Fresh Water Tank Vent

My trailer is an 2009 15t.The HI/LO folks decided to use the 1&1/4" fill connection as the vent. The problem is the vent is to big and below the top of the tank. When traveling about half the water in the tank splashes out of the vent. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

That's crazy! Why would they do that? Where does the open end of the hose go? Does your fill door have a small screened opening for a vent tube beside the fill cap? If it does, you should try to reduce down to a small line that will connect to it. Maybe that's easier said than done. My wife's cousin has a 2409T, I'll have to ask him how his is hooked up.

My 2209 has the fresh water tank under the floor same as the other tanks. Air vent is small hose up to along side the fill connection.

Default Fresh Water Tank Vent

There is no separate fill door. The only way to fill the tank is to attach a hose to the city water connection and operate a valve located under the dinette seat.
The vent goes through the floor.

Default Mantelli trailer sales

My guess was that since you were located in the WNY area that you possibly had bought your unit from Mantelli Trailer sales.
