Default "New" Park in Alabama

Well I was there about 4 years ago and while visiting our son the dog just waited to go someplace. So we went from Rome, Ga. into the North West area of Alabama.
They just started redoing the park and have several dry camping areas and are going to be setting up some full service ones shortly. This park used to be called "Sand Rock". Now it's called Cherokee Rock Village.
Their website is

Home

Interesting to get to and other parks around it. DO NOT plan to take a camper from there to Little River Canyon. Unless you plan a long route the direct route has signs stating DON'T. Also this is in UA (Upper Alabama).

Some pics of our trip. If you have problems walking this is not a good camp for you.

Enjoy

Later Tim & Nancy & the dog that went there.

Default Every one of those rockpiles

have more elevation than the entire Lower Alabama landscape (may be a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much).

Example my previous place in Mobile - elevation 3 feet above the bays (high tide) edge. 200 miles generally east my elevation is 290 feet. Traveling across this stretch you'll only occasionally see a rolling hill.

Default UA vs LA

Well there is a difference between Upper Alabama and Lower Alabama.
Looking forward to camping in that area someday.
Also when I reviewed their directions on their website I was not impressed. If you need more or whatever let me know and I'll get a hold of our son and get the ones that we used. Something like turn left on the road with fences on both sides.

Well did it look like the dog enjoyed it??

Default "difference between Upper Alabama and Lower Alabama"

I notice a distinct difference starting on the north side of Montgomery (90 min. away).

I believe your puppy is much like my bride, just loves to travel.

Default Long time, no see (hear)

I think 69H has done an Elvis and left the building.

Perhaps he's sitting on the turlet contemplating the answer to "who wrote the book of love"?
