Default 1709T HiLo For Sale - $14000 - It's Been Sold

We have decided to sell our exceptionally nice 2009 17T trailer. The trailer has many upgrades to it and in 2019 we took it to 1 of the 2 legacy HiLo factory shops to have a new roof installed, brand new cables and a new (factory) fiberglass nose cone complete with graphics, and lots of other upgrades recommended. The trailer is in truly exceptional condition. This work was personally done by Joel at PJ Woodworks and it cost over $8000. There is over $16,000 invested in this trailer.

Our price is $14,000.

There are many other improvements and upgrades to this trailer. Special bead-board paneling (no it is not covering up problems!), the low density factory seat cushions were replaced with special order high density foam, I built pull-out trays for the hanging closet (a truly great idea as we carry the trays into the house and fill with clothes), there are cargo nets under the upper bunk (great for pillows or clothes, additional wiring outlets for 12 VDC. I created a partial drop down for the upper bunk that allows good head room while providing accessible storage while camped. The couch converts into a single bed and the dinette drops into another bed; the couch and dinette can be combined into a king size bed. It is a very comfortable sleeper.

The tires are Load Range E, dual propane tanks are each 30 gal, dual deep cycle batteries, the brakes work well. Everything works as it should including the A/C. Dual fans for the refrigerator cooling. There's even bead socks to seal the door gaps. The inside shower has never been used but it is complete with the factory curtain! Our trailer pulls great and by our local scales weighs just over 3000#.

We pull it with a Chevy Colorado and we keep it under roof in a steel barn.

Scotty, is this Hi-Lo a 1709T or a 1707T?

Hi Dee. It is a 1709T and was originally sold and titled as such. But Joel (HiLo's Production Manager) tells me that it was built in 2008 but not sold until 2009...hence in the world of trailer manufacturers, it is a 2009. The appointments are akin to 2008. Not that there was much difference. I have motorcycles that are titled the same way.

Scotty, the reason that I asked about the model year was that you replied to someone on here looking for a 17T and indicated that this Hi-Lo was a 1707T.

Yes I did. But I sent him an email to correct that statement. My memory was wrong. Here is the sticker on the left side front. Somewhere I have the label on the inside of the kitchen cabinet and I'll post that later.

We have created a posting on CL in the Asheville area. Here is a link, pictures are slightly different as is the write-up for those who don't know HiLos.

An update as we have offered this on the CL advertisement. We will entertain offers on our trailer. Like most of us who know the HiLos, we want to see it go to a good home. That means someone from this forum. So, if someone is interested, it is likely we can put together a deal.

Default still available?

Hi Scotty

is it still available? And does pulling it with your colorado mean that it has it's own electric breaking system? I currently but since having learned of the hiLo trailer i have been on the hunt for a smaller one for my family of 3. Catch is that we are in southern Ontario so i need to get more info on buying and bringing a trailer to Canada from that states.

looks like you took very good care with pride of ownership with this beauty!

Yes the trailer has its own electric brakes. The tow vehicle has a brake controller that regulates the trailer’s brakes. It’s a standard setup for any trailer; I’ve pulled 3 different trailers with our Colorado. The 1709T is in excellent shape. While I keep it in an enclosed steel barn, this trailer will easily fit inside a standard garage…one of the many benefits of the HiLo.

Adding pic of kitchen, bath and wardrobe. Hmm, can’t drag & drop pics. I’ll try another way.

I really like some of the modification made to your Hi-Lo, especially to the swing down overhead bunk. Thanks for posting.

Hi Snowman. Thanks for the comments. The bed works in 4 different modes. Up, Down, rear up/front on straps, and rear down/front on straps. The two strap modes can be used when the trailer is fully erected but we find it quite useful to "adjust" the bed to our needs.
BTW, in case no one noticed the bulb seal was replaced when we had it in Joel's shop 2 years ago.

Default Price Lowered to $12,900

We are lowering our asking price to $12,900. We've had a number of inquiries but always with some condition such as take our 5th wheel on trade! Or the usual we'll send you a check, what is your bank account.

It is noted that the 17T recently sold in Vancouver with damaged roof and broken cables sold for $1800. To fix those items will cost about $8500...we know! Just sayin'. Our gem of a 2009 trailer is mol $2000 over that and it is totally complete with quality work. Even the two 30 gal propane tanks are full.
We'd like to see it go to a good home. Make us an offer. By the end of summer, we'll take it off the market and keep it.
