Wow, thanks for that input!

I was having the same problem this winter with our new(er) Hi-Lo. My solution, however, was not nearly as surgical as yours. I installed a battery disconnect switch inside the front wall of our battery compartment. The only thing not disconnected when I open the switch is the solar trickle charger.

Never suspected the built-in radio/DVD player!

You were much more elegant than me - my solution was to disconnect the negative battery cable, then run a short, heavy jumper wire from the negative post up to the front of the battery box where I parked the negative cable. When I wanted to raise the trailer, I'd connect the jumper to the cable. It worked, but was pretty clumsy.

For the DVD player, I was able to mount a little rocker switch on the bottom of the cabinet where it's located.
