Default Welcome to the forum

Get some diamond plate and have a fabrication shop make it up for you.Plain sheet metal would also work. On my 1990 Classic HiLo DH ran the cables from the side compartment. Then he bolted a piece of exterior plywood between the metal supports. This is on the exterior tongue. Auto parts stores should sell a plastic battery box that would have drain holes to let water out.

Sorry to hear your battery caught fire!! Hope nothing else was damaged. If you need a replacement part, you might try J & R Trailers at:

Home - JR REPAIR

Good luck!
