Changing the dedicated bed

I'm looking to purchase in the next few months a Hi-Lo with the dedicated bed in the back. From what I've found in research there are only 2 models: 27T Towlite & 28C. Are there others? Can the dedicated bed be replaced with an adjustable base & mattress? At home I have a queen Mattress Firm adjustable frame & mattress which is awesome for my arthritis etc. At home I have it slid into a regular head & footboard frame. I'd like to get one for my camper if possible.

On my 2005 27T, the queen bed in the back is a queen short, not a full length queen so you might not have enough room for a full size queen. The bed is on a platform with a large amount of storage space under the mattress bed, which is on air shocks for easier lifting. It would be fairly simple to remove the base for the mattress, but again, you probably wouldn't have room for a full size queen bed. There is not much room at the foot of the bed even with a short queen.:(
 
Thoughts on a queen bed.

You most likely need to find a HiLo with two couches that fold out into East West configuration. This could be a 25fter or 26ftr. The couches in the mentioned above reference had the couches in the front. Then you would need to have a custom mattress made that would lay on top the couch. We have this in our present 26fter. The foam mattress is the best comfort possible. May be the foam mattress was around $200.00. We are short people at 5ft 5&1/2 inches. Plenty of room for taller people. No need for a box spring. We leave the couch/bed made up permently.
 
Thanks, Sam, but I want to use an adjustable base (no box spring) so it gets into positions like a hospital bed. My current base also has adjustable legs for height of mattress from floor. Currently for my bedroom I connected the head & foot boards with one side rail, slid the base w mattress into the frame & then placed the 2nd rail (4th side) on so it appears to be a regualr bed set.
 
On my 280C I have a full size queen mattress. It has just enough space to fit past the foot of the bed as the mattress is 6 inches longer than what the platform is designed for. I'm 6'3 about 260 and have been using this since 2007 with no problem. As for the frame, as noted before, it is a platform that lifts for storage underneath, there is no box spring, just a platform that the mattress sets on.
 
Queen bed

I have a 2004 28C and I have a regular queen size bed in it with no problems. You should be able to make a few changes and install the adjustable frame and have plenty of space. Let me know when you get ready to purchase as I am going to sell mine in the near future.
 
I have 2002 29C. The previous owner installed a full size queen mattress on the existing frame w/storage compartment. it really cuts down the room getting around the foot of bed to the sides of the bed princess queen is 6" shorter than a standard queen.
