I am considering a 2000 31 foot hi lo travel trailer.
any idea how heavy this would be and what vehicle would be good for towing it.
I have read some are listed as towlite. How are these different?

Welcome Mustang! - I have a 2506C which is a 2006 25' Classic.
The Classic line is 100" wide whereas the Towlite's are 94". The 2506C comes
in at around 4500 #'s. I still have 2006 brochure and I think they were still
making a 31' then, and I think only as a Classic. I try to find the brochure
but you're probably pushing 6000 #'s. The Classic's are heavier and came
with alot of stuff built in, as the Towlites started lighter and you added options you wanted and built them up. We started with a F-150 and changed
to F-250. Hi-Lo's are great to tow and are areodynamic, but they can be
a little on the heavy side.

thanks!
so sounds like they are as heavy or maybe heavier than a regular travel trailer?
how is your gas mileage affected with towing the hi lo.

This document may help you with estimating weights. I believe it is for 2006 units. I think you would need a heavy duty truck (e.g a Chev 2500) for a 31 footer.

I have a 1996 Hi-Lo 22' I am selling. It weighs 3,700 pounds and I tow it with a 2001 Toyota Tacoma, V6 automatic, four wheel drive with 113,000 miles on it. Just finished a 5,000 round trip from St. Louis to San Diego then to the Grand canyon and finally home. I got a steady 14 miles to a gallon with no problems.

we also found a 2006 towlite 2706 we may look at
Does anyone that has one this size tell me if there is room for a air mattress on the floor to sleep an additional person?
thanks
