Looking at buying a 1993 22ft Hi-Lo. Can't figure out if the couch across the front of the trailer to the right of the door folds into a bed. If so....how do you open it?

My '94 opens into a double bed. Just lift the front bottom and it will open up.

Our couch folds completely flat when it is deployed. You must have something that is either sticking up or not where it belongs when it is folded out?

Making the couch into a bed.
The couches have a pull out strap to make into a bed. It is fairly flat. However some are bothered by the crack in the couch. The solution is to get a custom foam mattress made up. In our current HiLo the couches go into a queen bed. Same solution..custom mattress and a topper from Walmart. So comfortable.

The backrest pulls out from the bottom, keeping it face up, and swings up and over the seat. It should rest flat. That's on later models, I can't say for sure for earlier models.
