I bought my HiLo 4 months ago and discovered a small, hinged compartment in the rear bumper. Three screws secure it & it is the entire with of the bumper, above the leveling jacks. Is this standard, or did a former owner install it? Thanks for any information.:)

I've got a 1908T and it has one. The previous owner stored his sewer hose there as well as the awning rod. I beleve it is standard equipment.

My '95 has it - I refer to it as the trunk. Mine has a hasp installed for a pad lock. I have awning rod, cables and weight bags for it. tree saw, stakes, but most importantly rubber gloves and hand sanatizer for use when dumping the holding tanks.

The bumper normally has endcaps for the sewer hose storage. I have a compartment on top forward of the bumper for the awning sheppard hook and the stabilizing jacks crank handle.

Yep, that has been standard for many years. We use ours for a broom and a small shovel.

That leads me to an experience we had with mice a few years ago when we had our 1705T. The ends of that storage space are the ends of the trailer frame. There is a small opening next to the frame inside the compartment that is large enough for mice to get through and into the trailer. My advice is to get a couple of Chore Girl scouring pads and stuff them into those spaces, the mice will not chew on them.
