Default 1st Trip Done - Thank you!

Well, I just returned from my first trip with my 1810 Hi Lo. All I can say is I am in love! I have camped off and on in tents since I was young but I have never stayed in a trailer. Who knew a bed, a heater, an air conditioner, hot water, and a flush toilet in the middle of a night could feel so good.

It went very very well. My 2013 Ford Escape handled the trailer really well with a WD Hitch and a brake controller. It gets a little hot on grades. (I have at least two with a 7% incline to get anywhere from my house).

I still have to figure out how to limit my use of the gray water tanks as it filled way to quick and I need to do a flush of my black water tank so I can winterize it.

I wish I had more time to camp before I had to put it away for winter. Already have a week long trip booked for July on the Oregon Coast next year.

Thanks for the help and I will continue to check in with questions. Single lady figuring this out has been a huge growing experience and I love that I can figure this stuff out.

After I dump my black water tank I put the cover back on the dump valve. I then open both the black and gray valve and let gray water run into the black tank. I then close both the black and the gray valve and remove the cover from the dump valve and put the hose back on. I then dump the black tank again and then the gray tank. I don't always watch what comes out of the black tank during this second dumping but whenever I have I have seen some solids flowing from the hose.
I first did this only at the end of the camping season but now do it when ever we use the camper.
Other then this I have never done a "winter flush" of the black tank and have never had any issues with the black tank.
This works for me, it may not work for you.

Glad you had a good time.
Having a list and repetition, makes most things easier.

I just winterized mine and said goodnight.
