Question 90% up

Hello Everyone...

I was just wondering. I have my Hi Lo parked in my garage. My boyfriend and I have been working on it and sometimes I just go out there to enjoy being in it for awhile. My concern is... We are only able to raise it about 90% of its full height because of my garage ceiling height, and that's where we have left it. Is this alright or could we be doing it some harm by not having it raised to 100% of its height?

I don't see a problem unless, the hydraulic line would happen to break and the top come down because the safety latch isn't engaged. possible but not probable. If you don't feel safe now, you could always cut some 2x4s for the corners.

Agreed - DO put some support under the corners if the safety bar is not engaged.

Default Supporting your HiLo

I agree with the two previous posters. Even if you could raise it all the way up I would tell you to support the corners with 2x4s. We supported our fully raised HiLo for six months while we were doing our restoration. The 2x4s take the strain off the cables when it is up for long periods of time. This is a good thing to do when you camp seasonal or for a long time. I even went so far as to stain and put polyurethane on my 2x4S. This is a woman thing. Way cool to sit in your HiLo anytime the mood strikes!! Something I have done many times.
