Default Back end top going down...

I'm at a vintage trailer show and the trailer is at a slight dip in the back. Now I've noticed the back end top part is lower than the front.

Question: what should I do? Do I try to lower it and then raise it?

Default I haven't a clue what to do

but I'm beginning to recognize you. I must comment, you are a most unlucky gypsy. Both sea and land.

Best of luck from lower Alabama (LA).

You MAY need to adjust the cables, either the ones for the rear to raise that part or the front ones to lower that section (or both). You need to check the seal around the top to see if it is lower than it should be at any point. If so, prop the top on four equal length 2x4s so that you take tension off the cables. Then, adjust the ones you need to get it level.

But, DO NOT raise any section too far! You can cause serious damage to the lifting system if you do.

Sea Gypsy,

I had the same problem with a 1991 31' model we owned several years ago. To resolve it, I lowered it and then checked the leveling bolts on the cables [between the roadside wheels]. The lock nut on one of the bolts was completely missing and it and another nut were barely finger tight. Both had no tension on them. From that point it was a matter of adjusting tension until I got it completely level and making sure the lock nuts were tight.

Good Luck,
