If the pump runs and won't go up could be the cylinder, under the camper, had to rebuild mine. If that is the case you won't be able to raise it with the manual pump either...good luck. donm

Thanks one and all. The camper is going up and down like a new one. Finally was able to get a good charge on the battery and the motor worked. Cut a door opening on the battery side of the pump/battery box for any future battery issues. The lowering issue was binding on the slide rod. A good lube job and we are back to camping.

Thanks again! This is a great HI-LO forum community!!

This a good example of how important the maintenance of the lift system is. That simple looking guide rod is a vital component.

I'm glad you got it working again.

What does the manual pump jack look like to just raise the top a bit to access battery ? I read and read but and looked through manuals but just simply cannot identify the part .

You may not have one - they were optional on some trailers. Here's a link to a thread that shows the jack that you insert the manual rod into to lift the top. http://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f22/...location-5028/
It's shown in Post #2, right at the end of the orange arrow. It's oriented diagonally across the top of the pump in this unit. Mine's on the side and I pump the rod up and down. If you have one, it will have a similar appearance.

Welcome to the forum, sir!

- Jack
