my '84 funchaser is set up with a front dinette and side clicky couch, which is the exact opposite of what i want. i don't want to sit on the couch with my back to the window. i love looking out the windows. every camper i have ever owned had the booth next to a nice big window.
so how difficult do you think it would be to switch them? has anyone ever tried this? i know there is water pumps and such under the dinette and storage under both. so i guess if they measure out to be the same size it would work?
or am i missing something?
i just found an '87 for sale for $2700 with my preferred setup but i hate to go buy another one already when i just got this one. if i can switch things around i would keep this one.
any ideas, thought would be much appreciated.

I see your name is Joan, if you were my niece, I would say go for it, actually she wouldn't have asked, she would have just done it, if possible. I don't know your capabilities.
Here is what I see.
With the dinette in the front, nothing is in the way to put the couch there, the problem is that the heater and possible some other stuff are under the couch where it is at now. These things would not be easy to move to the front. If left where there are now the dinette wouldn't fit there.
Check under the couch and you will see what I mean, then you decide.

yeah i forgot about the furnace. i may consider just taking it out since it does not work. i use a little space heater anyways, why use up my propane when i can use the elec i already paid for. i don't go anywhere that does not have elec.
thanks for your input, removing that would actaully give me more storage probably.

yeah if i had any "capacities" i would do it myself but i am not handy that way. good for your niece who can do such things!
i will see if my bro-in-law feels like tackling it. he is pretty good at carpentry.
i really don't want to buy another one at this point when i can re-arrange the one i have.

I wasn't knocking you in any way, just pointing out that some women can do things a lot of men can't. My nieces husband who is in the airplane industry wouldn't even try to do it.
Check to see if the battery charging unit is under the couch, this would create a rewiring problem also, it maybe under one of the dinette seats which is good.
All the wood framing should be screwed fast and not hard to remove. Will just take some time

hey Pop, now worries i didn't take it that way at all! i would love to be as capable as your Joan, that would be awesome. i am very handy at a lot of things around the house and do most of the maintenance etc, but i couldn't tackle changing my hi-lo around. i will sure be there to help though!
so i am good with my battery charger being under the front dinette, won't have to move that.
i will dismantle the heater myself, don't know whats wrong with it anyways. it kicks on and blows but no heat comes out.
a unit this small will warm up very nicely with my little ceramic heater.
can't wait to spring to get working on this.

it will be a problem getting to the water pump, charger, etc under there once the big clicky couch is there. i will have to put in a big access door to get to the drain plugs at least.
