Good food for thought. How many people ever get down and check their hitches? Are the mounting bolts on the TV tight and torqued, and how about the frame cross members? I haven't checked mine enough. Shame on me.

It would be interesting to know some details. Like, did the truck use a bumper mounted ball? Did the trailer brakes (if it had any) play a role in stopping the boat? Did safety chains help save the truck (and passengers)? This is definitely a case where I'd like to learn from another's experience, and not my own. OJT has a place, and this isn't it.
