Hi all,

I'm in the process of developing checklists for the camper. I've found having a checklist comes in very handy when RVing, and I would think even more so with a telescoping trailer with a tip out! I'm putting them in Word format and will be happy to upload them when they are a little more refined. I've made up three of them:

Preparing to leave on a trip
Setting up camp
Leaving camp

If any of you use a checklist(s) I would love to see it if you don't mind sharing!

Thanks,

Here's one!

I've been trying to upload the checklists but I keep getting an "invalid file" message. They are Word documents (.docx file extensions) and are under the max file size so not sure what the problem is?

Thanks,

Greg, simply open the file, copy and paste the list onto a "notepad" page and you have your own list. Then just save it how you would normally.

Hi Jim,

I have the list in a nice little table in Word so would lose the table format. Maybe that's why the document won't attach?

Thanks,

Eatingh at Dennys

We get coupons in our Sunday newspaper. Sometimes Dennys has a 20% off coupon. They also have many specials and a senior menu with smaller portions. Any money you can save goes in the gas tank for your travels.!!

Figured it out!

Think I finally figured out how to upload my checklists to the forum. I had to convert them to pdf.

This is probably way too obvious and detailed for many of you but I designed it for newbies like myself and for DW in case I become disabled. This is the first of three I made up. Suggestions for improvement are welcomed as it is a work in progress!

You have convinced me!

OK Gregg,
Trailer goes up for sale.

1. Call hotel and make reservation
2. Get in vehicle and drive to destination
3. Unpack car (OH Man; I need a list even to do this. Forgot to pack.
4. No problem. Do local shopping and buy new wardrobe.
5. Enjoy
6. Go home

I might; just might can handle THIS list!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek:

What about STRAP after tip-out is deployed in set up on outside top of tip-out? Also release same STRAP before retracting tip-out preparing to leave.

Hi Tess,

When I first read your post I couldn't figure out what strap you were referring to so I went out and looked. I saw that there is a locking hasp and strap in the middle of the tip-out cover which allows you to secure the cover while camping. I never realized it was there before. I'm assuming this is to keep the cover from blowing upwards in case of a strong wind?

Thanks for the tip!

Number three.

Greg, I had to laugh when I read your check list which included "Verify no one is inside trailer." I was on my way to the Kern River (pre Hi Lo days) and had stopped at Kramer Junction for gas and a fellow from Las Vegas had a Hi Lo at the pumps and I wanted to talk to him just as he was pulling away from the pumps, but he told me I would have to wait. His wife had crawled inside the trailer to get something and ALL doors slammed shut! She had to use her cell phone to call her husband, as he didn't know where she was!! :D

Wow, good thing she had a cell phone! She may have ended up staying in the trailer all the way to Vegas! I know exactly where Kramer Junction is as we make regular trips to San Diego and stop there on occasion.

BTW, I put that item on the checklist because it says to do that in my owner's manual. I was thinking more of the grandkids tho, not my wife! :D

I don't believe it is that uncommon. On our Alaska trip my BIL crawled into the trailer to fetch his insulin from the refrigerator and both doors blew shut.
We kept him there about a minute, all of us laughing.

You sure don't want to do something like that when you are alone. I've crawled into my trailer when I'm alone but I make sure there isn't any way doors can close and I haven't done it very many times as it is too easy to hit the button and raise the top, plus I don't seem to crawl as easily as I did when I was a baby.:D
