Default Compound and waxing the exterior

The outside texture of my hi low...Especially the upper half is very rough and does not seem to want to take to compound. The finish is very dull any suggestions

Have any of you with the older trailers attempted a full buff job on the exterior?

Default I have a 1990 wavy sided HiLo 25ft.

The upper half of the HiLo takes the brunt of abuse in the lowered travel position. I have used bar Keepers Friend with a no scratch scrubbie to the exterior of my RV. Rinse very well and dry. Next I applied 303 protectant with a micro cloth. The finish is very shinny and the protectant doesn't leave white streaks. My Rv probably could use a body shop paint job. Not worth the cost.
