Default Electrical Brakes??

And how much does your truck (TV) weight??

And how much does your hilo weight???

Bad stuff when stopping and your hilo keeps pushing you on and on.

That said I'm not repairing my hilo surge brakes asap due to the weight of my truck and hilo. Would like to have them working but other things are in the way. I will get them working at some point in time till then I'll drive slow and plan way ahead and no major hills or God Forbid any mountain like driving.

Good Luck

Later Tim

Default What?

First you say you have no sway bars and now you admit to no brakes either.

Just picking on you.... go slow and easy, anticipate others crazy movements. But DO keep a much larger/heavier tow vehicle on the camper.

I assume your Funlite has brakes installed. They were put their for a purpose, for your safety and for everyone around you on the highway. I don't know about CA, but here in PA if your trailer grosses 3000 pounds and over you must have functioning brakes. Also, you need to have an emergency breakaway switch to activate the brakes in case the trailer becomes unhooked from the tow vehicle.

Some states require a brake controller depending on length and weight of trailer.

I was coming down Parley's Canyon on I-80 a 6 weeks ago. A 13 mile long steep 6% grade from above Park City into Salt Lake and at the bottom of the steepest part there is a curve. Traffic was backed up because a trailer with it's TV were laying on their sides. Not sure if it started swaying, or the trailer didn't have brakes, or maybe the weight at the rear of the trailer lifted the tongue. The truck and trailer were totaled but it looked like they were lucky and no one was injured. There are usually Semi's doing 30 in the right lane and idiots doing 90 in the left. If it had been rush hour I have no doubt the pileup would have had fatalities. If my trailer has brakes I want them to work. No question.

Not sure this SeaGpysy person is for real, if so I don't want to drive in the same state as they are an accident just waiting to happen.
