I discovered a fatal design or installation flaw on my hi lo I have since repaired the issue . the outside bottom flange on the upper section lets water in and the wood wicks it upward overtime rotting the siding. I took out all the screws and wedged open the plastic bottom cover and used quad sealant all along the edge , sealed the edge and screwed it back up. no more water intrusion.
