Default Found an awning!

I was out for a harley ride and stopped by a campground a few miles out of town because it looked great from the road. Turned out to be a private club, but their dumpster had a 22' awning sitting next to it, snapped in half. Luckily, all the parts were there, so I turned around and went home to grab the truck. Just wondering if any of you have repaired a snapped in half awning that might have tips on bracing the inside. I"m thinking about building a wood cross a few feet long and sliding it in both ends and reassembling the tube. I only need about 15ft of the awning, so the bent up broken portion I should just be able to cut out and resize.
