Default Funlite 16 - Need a black tank

Hi all - we just acquired our first HiLo, a 1982 Funlite 16.

It was sitting in the PO's camp for 10 years (tags have been expired that long), in the up position. He towed it home that way!!

Got lucky and nothing in the lift system was damaged, though we'll likely do a cable replacement anyway (better to do it at home rather than deal with a failure on the road).

Unfortunately the black tank didn't survive the ride home. It had a crack at the inlet, which turned into a full break on the road. I could probably fix it (I've done ABS "welding" on motorcycle saddlebags), but I'd rather just replace the whole thing and not have to worry about it.

So where do we find a replacement tank? I've lurked here for years (another lost account) so have seen JR's come and seem to go? None of their contact info seems to work. Are they still around, and are they still the go-to folks for HiLo parts? Is there somewhere else I could get a black tank?

Thanks for the help - the knowledge around here is amazing!

Default Getting a black tank

Hopefully you were able to save the tank for measurements. I haven't had to replace ours. We had to make repairs. Inca Plastics in California 1-866-562-7848. I know several Airstream owners use this Co. for tank replacement.

Yea, I haven't done anything yet. Figured I'd get a price on a new one, let that guide me as to how hard to work at repairing it.

Am I correct that it's ABS?

Thanks!
