Default hi lo Breeze hydraulic cylinder

I'm trying to remove the hydraulic cylinder to get it rebuilt or replaced. does any know if the rod out of the cylinder is attached to the 1 inch plate that serves as the ram or does it just rely on pressure to hold it in place?

there is a large pin with clip on the base side and is threaded into the plate on the cable side.
Or that's how it is on mine

I took my hydraulic cylinder out a couple weeks ago and had it rebuilt. Mine is as Renoites described it. Put some PB Blaster on the threads to loosen it up a little and then had to tap with a hammer to break it loose.
