Default Lift pulleys

I did some maintenance on my 2004 22t and noticed that the front lift pulleys are metal and the pulleys on the rear are plastic. Does anyone know why there is a difference. My guess is that the plastic ones resist rusting and causing cables to malfunction.

To the best of my knowledge, all of the pulleys are "nylon/plastic" from the factory. Sounds like somebody changed out the front pulleys.
