Default longest

I'm new to hilo's. Less than a year. So far I think they are awesome.
Since camping this summer I have seen a few other Hi-Los at camp grounds.
I have a 24' classic. This one time driving down the road I saw one sitting in a driveway that looked huge; maybe 34' long.
It made me curious. What is the longest Hi-Lo?
Is there a website that list models and sizes by year?

Most interesting I have seen so far is a Hi-Lo 5th wheel.

Rick

The longest production HiLo I've ever heard was 33' long. It was built with 3 axles. Have no idea what it weighed. Not many were made. Somewhere in the HTF, there are photos of one.

Sorry, no. This is not my trailer. I just did a search and found it on the forum.

I wonder why the 33' needed 3 axels. I've seen 31' and 32' HiLo's with two axels.

Weight of the trailer. Hi-Lo probably should have also put three axles under the 31 footer.

Becoming a "Senior Member" has nothing to do with how long one has been in the HTF. It's all about how many posts one has made. Could be wrong because it's been a while, but I believe once you pass 100 posts, you are automatically listed as a Senior Member.

Yep, 100 posts is correct, pontiacric. You don't even have to be an old geezer!

Jim, just noticed you now have a 2015 Tahoe. How does your 27 footer tow with it?

I just saw an ad for a 2002 33' hilo that only had 2 axels. It said it was 1 of 9 made. Anyone know anything about this limited edition?

Greg, the 2015 Tahoe is working out very well with our 2704T.

Before reading further, be aware that except for the occasional short passing speed burst, we NEVER tow at speeds over 65mph. The limiting factor being the trailer tires. So our decision to buy a new TV had nothing to do with any desire to pull the Hi-Lo at our State's new 80mph Interstate speed limit!

Our last TV was a 2007 Suburban. Between the higher weight and lower hp and lack of a factory tow package...and even with the extra transmission cooler we installed... I found it somewhat lacking as a TV for our western mountains (we travel a lot in the mountains of Idaho, Wyoming and Colorado).

Our new Tahoe is of course, lighter, has about 60 more hp, and came with a factory tow package, including differential. Since purchasing it in May, we've driven almost 8K miles, most of it towing the 2704T. That includes two trips to Colorado, one driving on some amazingly steep and winding back roads...and it's handled it all, staying nice and cool with power to spare! Unlike the Suburban, I haven't once felt as though I was pushing the vehicle's performance envelope.

Jim
