I have a difficult time finding things on this forum. I just want to check all my pulleys and cables and lubricate them properly. Someone wrote on here awhile back about a modification of drilling holes in something to lubricate the pulleys. I searched that and could find nothing. Is there something inside the Hi-Lo upper portion you take off to lubricate an upper pulley ? If so please post that link if anyone knows of that modification.

P.S. I have two very old well worn Hi-Lo's (84 & 90) and I have never had one problem with the cables or lift system. I just lubricate everything I can see under the trailers that moves. I also lubricate the slides on the exterior of trailer.

I remember a few years past that a member drilled a hole above each upper cable pulley that allowed him/them to lube the pulleys without removing the entire rail. They/he used a ferrel to cap each hole. May have worked well for him/them but I prefer to remove the upper rails to lubricate the pulleys and cables.

I agree.

You get a better lube job when you can see the cable. It is not that hard to undue a bunch of screws. Better to get a good lube job than replacing the cables.
