Default Replace wood rot

Hi all, I own a 1998 HiLo Classic 22L and we had a leak and replaced the window. While in the process of replacing the window, we saw on the front passenger side, the wood has rotted and the 2x4 and plywood out that are at the bottom of the top frame need to be replaced. Has anyone done that? Does anyone know to replace the wood, do I need to have the hi lo in the raised position or lowered position?? Do I have to undo the cable to get the wood out? I am hoping that I can go from underneath and unscrew the 9 screws that are there and replace the rotted wood. Thanks in advance for any help!!

Hello, go over to the HiLo General Repairs, Modifications, Tips and tricks section if you haven’t already. There are numerous threads on there from doing a quick fix to totally removing the wall for a complete fix. A lot of great information is posted there.
