Default Rubber or aluminum roof on 2003-2004 hilo 24'?

I sent an e-mail to the nice folks who took over the parts for HiLo regarding my rubber roof on a 2003 hilo. Home - The Official HiLo Trailer Parts & Service

I received a prompt a reply stating that Hilo used aluminum factory crimped rolled aluminum roofing, and that the rubber roof must be an add on, Is that correct?

In any event, what kind of material would a white rubber sheet material roof be? Is it safe to assume that it is EPDM? Also, I assume it is stuck to a layer of lauan plywood (which has gotten water soaked and de-laminated). What's under the wood? Is it foam insulation of some kind?

Thanks for the help.

I'm probably not answering your question directly, but on my 07 trailer, it's an aluminum roof, which I know because I replaced the Mattel toy kitchen fan with a Fan-Tastic fan. And, there is virtually nothing under the plywood roof except for the interior "wallpaper/vinyl"?. No insulation that I can recall.

There were one or two model years back around 2000 or maybe later that did have rubber roofs standard with no options. They went back to metal and stuck with it.

My 2202T has a rubber roof. I don't believe it's glued down as it has some slight wrinkles and I can press down on it like a bubble.

In the reference section of the Forum. You can see a copy of the brochures for 2003 and 2004. In the 2004 brochure, page 12, you can see that some of the models came standard with a rubber roof.

Default Rubber roof too

My 2004 27 ft. Hilo that was actually built in 2003 also has a ruber roof. I learned this at the national rally. I also knew that I had a small rip along the edge where the rubber had stretched part.I have been careful to chalk that area but will now be able to look for better products or patching techniques to use with a rubber roof.

Make sure that the products you get are made specifically for rubber roofs. I'm sure you already had that info given to you.
