Default Sealing roof od a 2004 22T

Just put some Maxxair vents on the trailer. Roof looks like it is a rubber roof. If it is, how do you clean and seal it. It realy looks like it needs some kind of treatment. I know if it was fiberglass you can use Koolseal. Any info would be helpful.

Thanks

Codeman37,

KoolkSeal does make an elastomeric roof coating for a rubber roof. I believe that Camping World carries both types of sealer (aluminum and rubber roof). Go to the KoolSeal website for additional info.

Dicor makes pretty good products. I used their lap sealant in a caulking gun to seal my joints. I also used their rubber roof wash to clean the roof. They make a roof conditioner for the rubber also.

Default Cleaning and sealing a rubber roof

I agree with Fireballsocal, We have a rubber roof on our HiLo and just used the Dicor cleaner and conditioner, just follow the directions. We got the kool seal primmer and kooseal topcoat from our local Rv dealer(elastomeric). Follow the directions and tape off where the roof terminates on the side with blue painters tape. Dicor probably makes products that will do the same job. If you don't have an rv place near you then search the internet for the best price. The roof Koolseal is not cheap, maybe $100.00 for everything you need. Cheap insurance vs roof replacement. Either brand will work.
