Default sewer vent pipe?.

on my 85 hilo ..in the bathroom on your left as you walk in...there is a pipe fitting on top of the cabinet and one directly above it on the ceiling...i'm guessing the sewer vent maybe?...there is no pipe between the fittings...is there supposed to be a flex pipe or collapsible pipe there?..thanks in advance

There is a pipe that slides up and down. A fitting is on the sliding pipe that screws into a fitting mounted on the ceiling they are basic plumbing parts you can get at Home Depot . My fitting broke or I would send a pic. Mine broke because the factory didn't cut the hole in the right place as it goes into the cabinet so also check that. it may be why it broke.
