I was given a tip on this forum before putting 'er away for the winter. Took 'er out of mothballs today and tried the tip. Worked so well I thought I would repeat it for other new campers, like me.
I couldn't get enough tension on the spring bars to make any difference and had too much drop in the back of the TV. A wise contributor suggested I hook up the chains before putting all the trailer weight on the hitch. Easily got an extra link which pulled the ball (the back of the TV) up to the RV hitch. That one link made a big difference in the effect of the spring bars and helped level out the TV. Maybe everyone already does it that way but I didn't know and appreciated the help.
Everyone have a safe camping season!

Have owned several 30 foot plus trailers I follow this procedure.
drop hitch on ball.
lower till head will latch to ball
use power lift to raise hitch will take all weight off tow viechle you can even lift the rear of the tow unit 5-6 inches this will by you several links on chain, very easy to set as no tension. when i go to remove them reverse the process. so you dont have a spring bar snapping at you as it comes lose
