Unhappy towing setup

Hello, We have a 1989 voyager which we are learning about. A problem is hooking up to tow the trailer. We have the hitch that must be connected to the camper than to the truck, sway bars and weight distribution bars. Is there an easy way to hook up the trailer without a bunch of muscle needed? I'd like to be able to take it out myself but the heavy weights are a problem.
thanks from Houston, Tx

What brand/type of weight distributing hitch do you have?

Me thinks you're doing something wrong here ...

the normal procedure is to first attach the hitch to the tow vehicle
then maneuver the vehicle to the trailer.
Then attach the various bars.

Inserting and removing the hitch shank should be the only heavy part of the hitching process. If you have a manual hitch jack you may want to replace it with a power one, that reduce some of the work. This is what HILo put on the trailers. Electric Tongue Jack by Atwood on Sale - PPL Motor Homes
