Default Trouble raising Hi-lo

Hello...We have a 1983 23' Hi-Lo, and are having problems raising it. It will raise almost 1/2 way but then stops. However, we can still hear the motor working. There is no problem when we try to lower the top. We also just replaced the battery.

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks!

Have you checked the fluid level?

Check to make sure nothing is stuck, on outside back of my hilo I have a storage door & one time I didn't get it locked & when I tried to lift hilo it wouldn't go up. I had to climb into hilo with top down & lay on bed & stick flat piece of metal between top & bottom to hold storage door closed while someone else pushed button to lift hilo.
