Default Where to get EPDM P bulb seal

Hopefully we will be ready to replace our seal this upcoming weekend. I need the name of a CO. website to order the newer style of seal. What diameter do I need? Any help appreciated.

Default P bulb seal between top &bottom halves of HiLo

Our old seal is shot and lets in black dirt while traveling. The old seal has crumbling weather stripping in the middle of the seal. We want to replace with a more modern seal(better). Should we get a hollow seal or a closed seal. I've been looking on this website. www.epm.com. DH is going to bring a piece of the old seal home to get a diameter measurement. Any help appreciated.

Default Getting P bulb seal.

Our seal has crumbling orange weather seal in the middle of the round seal. My guess would be hollow seal. I'll call both HiLo parts places. I will get a price from www.extrusions epm.com

Up until 2007, hi-lo used a foam bead covered with vinyl for the bulb seal between the too halfs. The foam would rot a turn orange. I bought the replacement hallow rubber bulb seal from the hi-lo factory before closing shop for my 1997. I never installed it but I'm saving it for my 06. J&R should be able to help you out. You'll need to remove the upper section from the lower section to replace this seal.

Default seal for HiLo between halves

Jay at our HiLo dealer found the neoprene seal for us. It is a squish down type. I'll give more information when we pick it up later this week. Hopefully,we can install sunday after church. DH has Labor day off and I have a helper lined up. Right now our trailer has part of the upper and lower section separated for rear end sag repairs. You are right about the old weather seal crumbling and being orange in color. We had to order 55ft for our 25ft. Classic. $300.00 plus tax. Our Christmas present to our self. Our five hr. trip out in June"broke the camels back". I had to wipe down the inside rails and counter as black road dust was evident. Got our moneys worth after 23 yrs.

I was going to it myself but on my older hilo the walls needed to be rebuilt because of water leaks. Which left no way to support the upper half. You have to disconnect the cables and raise the upper half above thelower half with a jack at each corner, support the upper half on 4x4's that are resting on the lower section walls and floor. Cut off old gasket install new gasket with new trim then put it back together

Default Replacing seal between top and bottom

We are currently in the process of replacing our seals. The job is hard to do unless you are handy. Check out this back post by SAM Shields 04-03-2010. It is the outline forreplacing the roof gasket.

I have to do mine but some people use those foam pipe wrap tubes and stuff them inbetween the top and bottom halves. Be sure to remove before lowering!

Default Torn bulb seal

You can only use grey foam pipe seal after you arrive at your campsite. Then you must remove them when you are lowered down for travel. You will just get dirt in your camper when you travel. Clarification: remove pipe tubes then lower HiLo down. Our bulb seal came from JR repair in Ohio. It is 3/4" and hollow p bulb seal. DH had to release the cable height adjustment screws located behind the exterior wheel on the drivers side. Take skirt fender off. Used our Power jack to the max. DH used 21/2 ton vehicle hydraulic jack with extension. Couldn't have done the job without it. DH even got to buy a few new tools for the job!! DH advice is to watch your cable doesn't get caught as you are positing the HiLo. This happened once and he didn't realize it. This job would be easier if the cables were in with lag bolts. We weren't able to change the seal out around the ref. as we couldn't raise the unit high enough to get at this area. Drove out to Mantelli trailer sales to get a part and some advice. The owner said she has some used HiLos for sale on Craigs list. The service manager went out in a HiLo to see if he thought we could change out the seal around the ref. You would have to remove the ref. and the cabinet it is in. Bummer dh might make up a "snake" out of the left over seal .I;m guessing this would be put in place at the campsite then removed for travel. Just a little bit of weather proofing. Having fun putting the wardrobe and all the cap trim back on the interior ect. Service managers comment"most people just ignore the seal when it needs to be replaced".This is not a job for some one who is not extremely handy. Moral of the story:work hard earn lots of $ and let your HiLo dealer have fun changing the seals. Easy work just write a check!!

We need to order new seal and wanted to price out the EPDM seal. Our 63 came with no seal, so we have nothing to measure. What was the dimensions of the EPDM seal you ended up using?
