Default New electric jack doesn’t fit!

Got my new harbor freight electric jack and when I went to install it, it fits through the top hole but the lower hole is about 1/4” too small. Am I the first person to have this issue? The jack doesn't list anywhere online the diameter of the outer housing, should I have checked that?

I've not tried to install a jack from Harbor Freight, but I imagine you could enlarge the lower hole enough to install the jack without seriously weakening the tongue. A grinding wheel on a drill would be how I'd try it.

I wonder if the electric jacks from etrailer would fit? Harbor Freight DOES have some useful stuff, but I don't trust their quality as much as I do items from other sources.

Go to a welding shop or automotive shop that has a plasma cutter. Should not take much to enlarge the hole.
