1993 Funlite remodel!!
We love our 1993 Hilo that we got in 2010 on eBay for $2000! (It was supposed to be $4000, but when we drove 5 hours to pick it up, the ceiling was hanging down from water damage! The only question I had asked the seller before bidding was "Has it ever leaked?" To which she replied "No!" LOL Well, after taking off one whole side, resealing the windows and repairing the ceiling, we started our modifications by putting up a white beadboard ceiling.
Then we decided that we would never use the dinette, so we pulled out one of the benches and converted it into an L-shaped couch (got rid of the table). Now we had some floor space! Next we thought it looked pretty dark with the paneling everywhere so we went with a two tone look on the walls. The lower walls are now a dark gray and the top half more of a cream color. (Wanted more of an updated look than the wallpaper) Next we painted the cabinets an off-white and covered the countertops with black laminate.
It seemed weird that there was wallpaper in the shower area so we got that peel and stick vinyl tile and put around the shower so it looked more like a bathroom. I figured it would help keep any stray water from soaking into the walls. There was an old square mirror on the wall we took down and replaced with a round one with a wood-look frame. Then we covered the laminate floor with peel and stick tile (again with the peel and stick!) that looks kind of like stone. (hey, it's lightweight!)
Now for the furnishing: The original upholstery was like mauve velveteen. We pulled that off anywhere it was and had it reupholstered with more of a rust color. Then made curtains and hung them on little round rods.
In the last year, we put in a new big sink, new faucet and sprayer, new fridge (the old one was kaput) and, thanks to all the great storage mods on this forum, converted the top bunk to store plastic totes! Now we have a place for everything except the trash. Does anyone have any bright ideas for that?

Great minds! we did much the same thing with the paint scheme. We used TSP to wipe everything down allowing the paint to stick. Painted the lower half a light gray, the trim a gloss white (easier to clean), then mixed the white and gray for a lighter gray on the upper half. We did save a bit of each color for touch ups. I reupholstered all the fabrics and wa-la, NEW interior.

Also in the garage, some stuff to pull it:
1999 3/4 ton 'Burb
1993 Roadmaster wagon (well, it probably won't pull it)

Do you have any pics of yours? We were considering painting a different shade. We did the gloss on the cabinets but Larry (husband) put new wood trim all around the edges and stained it. We are also thinking of painting that as well.

Love your remodel
Thanks for sharing your pictures. I can appreciate all the hard work as we repaired a large amt. of water damage on our HiLo. You will never be sorry you removed windows and resealed. Time to go camping and enjoy your HiLo.
