IMG_3468.jpg Had our HiLo out on the street across from our house. The plan was to depart the next morning at 8AM.1130:pM a car went flying down the street and hit on the drivers side/upper back cap. Just hit and run. We made a police report. Then the HiLo went to the collision shop. We have used them for other HiLo body work. We have Good Sam RV insurance. We'll see if the estimate get accepted. We have several big chunks of the fiberglass. The shop may try and make a mold. A am somehow at peace with what has happened.

Damn! Glad the damage was as minor as it looks and that no one was injured. Hope the cops can catch the clowns that did it, and hope you're back on the camping trails soon.

HiLo Accident

Thanks Jack. Didn't post a side view of the damage, I have to drop off the large chunks of fiberglass to our body shop. A new cap isn't going to be found. I bet the damage is more than the value of the trailer 1996. We'll see if Good Sam RV ins is as good as it's name. The only damage on the interior is in the shower. The paneling has pulled apart some. DH thinks a gentile tap should put it back in place.+

I learned to use fiberglass for repair after taking out a no parking sign. It was not as good as the body shop but acceptable and the new owner did not even notice.

when we was there last year 2 on bicycles run over a young girl at the falls and kept going = they said not my problem. they caught them carrying the bikes back up the steps the other way.

Smashed HiLo.

I have been calling Good Sam RV insurance adjuster just about every day this week. Today she had me give her our upgrades in the HiLo. I keep all my receits. The ball is in the body shop's court. They are calling around the find the end cap. I doubt it is available. 2nd plan would be for the insurance to accept the body shop estimate for repairs. Third we junk the HiLo or the ins. co decelares it a loss. I supplied the body shop with the huge pieces of fiberglass from the accident scene. He might be able to patch it together and duplicate the one corner of the cap. We have used this body shop one other time on the HiLo. They do great work. If DH has to do the repair it will look ok. Just not body shop quality.
