Default Bridge Collapse Photos

Here are some photos of the bridge recovery and repair effort on I-5 in WA (about 40 miles north of me). Notice the damage sustained by the travel trailer that fell in the river with the Ram pickup:

not much left of that travel trailer, I wonder if the owner would like to complain about the fit and finish of his travel trailer, I would say its bad.

Definitely poor build quality, it did not even stand a 30 ft drop.

With a buid quality like that, not withstanding a 30 ft drop, that company should go out of business.

Default I don't rremember this event

in the news; how long ago did it happen? I vaguely remember another bridge failure, back 3-4 years ago (maybe up around the great lakes?).

The one in the photos happened in May of this year (2013). An oversized load on a truck hit the bridge structure and the bridge collapsed behind it. The two vehicles that were following fell into the river. There were no casualties. A temporary bridge was erected 6 weeks later.

Default The month of May

found me on the road nearly daily, guess that's how I missed it. Glad there were no fatalities.

About 5 years ago the I-35W bridge in Minneapolis collapsed during rush hour. I think 13 dead. I had a lot of friends that travelled that bridge everyday.
That was a hard way to convert your trailer to a telescoping one.
