Default Coleman/Fleetwood Tent Campers

If any of you have a Coleman camper, or friends that do, my ex-Hi-Lo dealer friend and now ex-Coleman dealer got a pile of parts from the Coleman factory when the they cleaned house. His luck was not good over the past year.

Give me a PM if anyone has a need for those parts, I can pass on the needed info.

I understand that some other dealers got parts as well. So Coleman lives on as long as the parts hold out. There could also be the possibility that some other company could reincarnate Coleman campers. I wish that would happen with Hi-Lo.

I hope this isn't considered SPAM. If so, I will have to delete it.

Hi Rich,

Naw... not spam. Just a good advisory that hard to find parts could be available for a while yet. Many of us HTF contributors do the same thing when we talk up J & R and the "Official" Hi-Lo Parts site, and I've never thought of it as spam.

Thanks for spreading the word about Coleman stuff!

Default Coleman camper parts

A friend of mine is looking for a used pop up. I just saw one for sale on my way back from my daughters DR. apt. Didn't realize that Coleman went out of business. I wouldn't worry about getting parts as most things are generic.

Did they go out of business?

Yes, very suddenly. They came in and told their employees they were done at the end of the day and didn't bother to tell the dealers either. All the inventory and plant contents were auctioned to the bare walls. There was a holding company that bought the factory from Fleetwood a couple of years ago, got the Coleman name back, and continued production. The bad economy, bad upper level management, and big business practices seemed to be the culprits.

Some one needs to bring back the HI-Lo Name with a whole new line of units with double and triple tilt outs and original units.
