May cause? They've been steadily going up since they hit the low spot back in the spring. Guess, throughout the summer, the speculators knew a hurricane was going to hit the Gulf and were raising prices due to the shortage.
Those greedy (expletive deleted) are always looking for an excuse to raise the price. Even if there is no legitimate reason, they will reach for straws to try to explain the increase away.
