Keeping HiLo cover on

We had some strong winds with gusts of 60 miles per hr. Our cover cam part way off. Went to WallyWorld and DH found some poly rope he liked. The plan is to use every grommet and tie the under belly. Hope this works as this is the third time we have had to retie. Huge learning curve as this is a new cover for us. Last winter we didn't have this trouble all winter with a different cover. My heart goes out to all the disaster victims in the USA and abroad who have lost loved ones and their homes.

In addition to using the grommets, put 3-4 ropes over the top of the trailer and tie these down. This will help take some of the load of the grommets during strong winds.

I used to keep a boat at a dry-stack marina and my slip neighbor used to cover his boat for the winter. It was a tall boat with a flybridge, so it had a lot of windage. He always tied the cover with the grommets and also tied 3-4 ropes over the top and around the whole boat. His cover always survived intact, no matter how strong the winds were.

tips for covering the HiLo

Thanks for the tip. I may have to hit up walmart for some more poly rope. I will do as you suggested. It surely can't hurt. We had a different cover last and didn't have any trouble. All this trouble and we haven't had any snow and ice yet. Maybe the snow and ice will give some weight and hold the cover down. We check the HiLo daily as DH drives by it on his way home from work.If the snow is adding up he brushes it off.
