Michelle, you lucky gal! The best advice you can get on Spain is from Rick Steves. He publishes a great tour book which is concise and to the point. Also, he is frugal with his money while traveling, and his accommodations look super. Watch his PBS programs on television covering Barcelona, Granada, Basque region, etc., and buy his handbook at Barnes & Noble. We had made tentative plans for Spain, France, and Italy this summer until a family wedding came up and I had to have eye surgery. I guess we will try for the fall season. We were thinking a cruise ship out of Barcelona so that we would not have to pack and unpack so much. However, a lot of those particular ships make a stop in North Africa, and that area is under stress right now with attacks on westerners. Also, the ships cruising the Mediterranean are losing time at various ports because they are stopping at sea to assist boat loads of immigrant Libyans with food and water until coast guard assistance arrives. So, we need to rethink the whole trip and probably use a lot of buses and trains and pack less clothes and creature comforts. I am green with envy and have a great time on your trip.
