Our trailer's at the RV place right now or I'd go check for you. Janet said she saw a label on it somewhere that gave the weight limit. I don't know what it is though.

Both our Grandchildren, 11 and 9 yrs old sleep up there when we camp with them and it works fine for them. I think it will hold one normal sized adult though, but I suspect it would be a bit "cramped" for space.

When I purchased my 98 21TL three years ago I called Hi-Lo service about the bunk weight capacity. They told me it should safely hold 300 lbs.

Default Bunk Bed Does Indeed Support up to 350 Pounds

In the DVD Supplement to the Hi-Lo Owners Manual (3-22-05) entitled "Basic Operating Instructions" the narrator does indeed say that that the overhead bunk bed is "Capable of supporting up to 350 Pounds."

I found that the screws holding the "Optional" upper bunk frame together were loose, and upon closer examination it was clear the assembler over drove some of the screws and reamed out the self tapping screw holes. So, I decided to use 3/16 pop rivets and replace all of the screws, evidently Hi-Lo only fastens only the bunk side of the cross-members together ... so to make the frame more ridged I added pop rivets to the mattress side of the cross-members while I was at it.

Now when the bunk is lowered it is absolutely solid ... might even carry the advertised 350 pound capacity. I also drilled a hole through the wall hinges so we could remove the mattress and use the bunk for storage as described in another post. We use the upper mattress as a mattress pad for the sofa bed, it works great!
