Default Removing the roof

bugaboo

This is an exciting project that you're considering

Here is a link to a document in our library, by Sam Shields, that outlines how to remove the roof and to replace the roof gasket.

Default Replacing wall wood

bugaboo

Here is a post that was answered by Sam Shields, that covers how to replace the wood in the roof walls.

If you decide to tackle this job, please take plenty of pictures and take notes. I'll be happy to put them all into a PDF document for you. It would make a great addition to our library.

As you get into it, post your specific questions to us here on HTF, the community will be happy to help with questions like; how do I, what is the best material, how to adjust, how does it work etc.

Let us know if you decide to do it!

Neal

Did anyone get into this? I might need to pull the walls off our '86 and I'm afraid bring down the ceiling too. Was looking for pictures / construction details of the ceiling.

I also need to rebuild my walls, I'm looking at the moment for a location where I can do this since I don't have rv parking at my house.
I found an older post on this forum, do a hi-lo trailer forum search. Type in "ladder". Go to the thread "ladder for drop down bunk". There are some good pictures and the process of doing this by holding up the roof system with 4x4's. Good luck, this is what I want to do, let me know if you have any other ideas. Les
