Default surgery canceled for now.

What a bummer. Bent over on Thursday to put away some laundry and experienced excruciating pain in the lower back that didn't get better. I have herniated discs as a result of seventeen yrs. as a Nurse. Going to get an apt. with an Orthopedic PA and get straightened out.

Default Back Problems

Sam,
Sorry to hear about your back problems. I hope they will be able to get you some relief. I know how living with back pain can be.
I am almost two week post back surgery to remove a synovial cyst from the facet joint around L2-L3. Still have 14 staples to prove it. See the doc tomorrow to get them removed. While very limited this past two weeks I can already tell you my back is much batter. Just stiff right now and those darn staples itch like crazy.
Hope you will get relief and they will be able to get it fixed. We will be praying for you.
God Bless
Papa

Default Back problems

Papa, sorry to hear you have back problems. So glad to hear you are getting relief after your surgery. My back problems come from working as a Nurse for 17yrs. I can't have surgery for a variety of reasons. Today I see the back specialist,PA. No fun having to use a walker and a wheel chair. Anyway I'm believing I can get back to before the severe pain. Then I need my urgent lifesaving abdominal surgery. I'm having so much fun now I can't wait until I get old. Prayers needed for all of us.

Sam, my wife is a RN working at a local elementary school. She gets 2 pairs of runner's shoes every year. That's a tough job being on your feet all the time. No, back pain is no fun. My back goes out from time to time and puts me down. I use a TENS unit when it's really bad. I put the dual pads on my lower back and raise the intensity of the electrical stimulation.

Prayers sent to you and Papa. With God all is possible.

Thanks for the prayer and get well wishes. I no longer have to use a walker and can walk under my own power. I'm am babying my back as my new surgery date is May 10th. I have greately benefited from anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxant medication. I checked into pain management, but in buffalo their is a 3 to 4 month wait. I have a church member that does pain management. For now I am okay on Tylenol.
