Default 2003 Hilo won't lower

Happy 4th. We should be camping but we are stuck in the drive way. The 29' Hilo classic will not lower. We checked the battery it is at 100%. It is not the safety release because it stops before it gets to the release bar. It will go up a little but will no come down. Any ideas? They are looking at the soleniod. There is something about the fluid/oil? Won't release.

Default Won't lower.

Had that problem with ours. For some reason it needs power to go down. Had to bypass the inline fuse from the battery to the 12 vold system by using a screwdriver to make the contact between the two posts on it. According to the mamual some of them have a reset button, ours did not, but the screw driver worked. Sometimes a weak battery will do that too if the converter is not charging the battery. Since yours does go up a little neither may be the issue with yours. In our case the electric hitch would not operate either.

Default 2003 Hilo wont lower Fixed

Thanks so much for your response. We did get it to work, it was nothing we thought it was. There is a plate with a hole in it that a rod goes through when you lower it. For some reason it was out of alinement and there was a build up of rust and dirt on it. They were able to clean it up and put some heavy grease on it and then aline it to go through the hole in the plate. We have put it up and down 10 times and it is continueing to work. So we are off to the camp ground which is only a couple of hours away. I am glad we only lost a half a day and not the whole weekend. Thank you for you time on this holiday, we appreciate it so much
