Default Fixed 88 fun lite by HiLi - motor runs no lift

Motor ran no fluid flow.
Unable to remove fiberglass hinged cover over power unit/battery.
I little man handling and it cam off.
Disconnect pressure line, no flow.
Took power unit to shop and going from shop to shop with little help
Shop claims solenoid that operated lower valve shot and no parts.
I believe the valve cartridge has junk stuck in it and won't move freely.
Bought 4 qtr. single acting Vevor power unit $171 delivered.
This power unit is ~17 inches long and the old one is 16.5 so it a tight fit.
Mounting bolts are not in same place but just used one (underneath).
Buddy helping insisted the vent/return clear plastic need to be hooked up.
Finally convinced him after getting fittings and hooking pressure gauge ($12 amazon) that the 'return' is just for venting the ram/cylinder.
Had 1 foot hose made with trailer side threads on one end and pump one the other (pump port not on top but on front as installed.
Wired it back and the top goes up and down.
Small amount of fluid comes out the 'return' = residual from when original pump valve was stuck in lower mode.
New pump does not ground via mounting bolt so used jumped cable to 'ground' to frame so the electric jack I added works!
Going up pressure ~600 psi, holding ~300.
Here is the power unit I bought, no manual pressure release!

shortest single acting I could find, $171 after Honey $10 discount.
1' hose and several fittings ~$66, made while waiting.
Labor, $40 (2 hrs) manhandle cover, loosen fitting and test, remove power unit.
Repair shop no charge to attempt to fix (then screw up!)
$20 (1hr), after new pump arrived to get ducks in a row/what hose/fittings we need.
$100, ~3.5 hrs driving back and forth to hose shop, installing and getting to work

At this point the up/down switch is not connected, instead am using the 15' remote up/down that came with new power unit.
Have vent/return line stuck in empty quart oil bottle to collect any 'returns' (will monitor), could at some time plumb this line to reservoir drain if needed.

Hi Rabird,

thanks for the information. I have a unit that I need to replace the pump on and this may be the solution for me as well. Would it be possible to get some pictures of your install?

Thanks!

finding a short pump and one that has the same connections seems impossible, but any way here is the install, a little crocked, only was able to attach one mounting bolt from below. Hose shop made this possible with new hose with correct fittings for the pressure line.

ole pump from another - same as mine

mine

new install

several folks on here suggest the Norther tool power unit, I could not find one short enough, they even posted links but they did not work!

Vevor has a double acting 3 grt that is 16.5 inches, it could be rewired to only be a single stage.

I believe I saw in later manual or pics that modern version have the 'return' plumbed to the top of the reservoir. The 'return' was a big concern for my helper whom thought fluid was supposed to flow via the 'return'. He was finally convinced once we hooked it up my way! I did not want to upset my worker cuz finding help on this ole stuff is tough!!
