Question Hand-Crank Lift - How hard is it to replace the seal gasket?

I wasn't sure where to put my question. My Hi-Lo is a 1961 so it's the hand crank style. No fancy hydraulics here

So I purchased the gasket to replace the old stuff on mine. I know after reading the outline provided on this forum (thank you!) that you have to jack up the roof with 2 x 4's. My question is, how challenging and/or dangerous is this for the newbie to attempt?

I was quoted $1,000 to have someone else do it. More than I paid for the trailer so I'd like to see if I could get it done myself.

Any thoughts, suggestions...and/or warnings for me before I attempt this?
