I recently aquired a 1982 HiLo. The lift pump works but it is only lifting on one corner. I noticed underneath a broken cable laying on the ground. I am looking for a manual or video on how to repair this problem. Is this a problem I can attempt to fix or should I find someone to do? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You

Welcome to the forum. If you do a search for cable replacement, you'll see the procedure for doing it. Replacement cables are available thru JR Repair or Midget. I'm using my not so friendly smartphone otherwise I would post the links as well. Good luck.

Lake girl welcome to the forum. A friend of ours that is fairly handy spent 8hrs replacing his cables. He ended up inventing a few new words!! I,m not good with computers. Hopefully someone will post the links to replacing cables. It would cost you about 1300.00 at the dealer for replacement. Google the repair places mentioned and you can get a price on the parts. We haven't had to do this repair yet. Dh lubricates the cables yearly. Perhaps someone will write a book on the complete HiLo repairs.

After you price the cable replacement package you might want to take a look at the broken cable and simply build one from parts at your local hardware store. Keeping in mind that this is a 32 year old trailer, you are probably going to want to at least try to repair a few things yourself. If you have a significant other or friends that are handy with tools and such I would at least give this a good try. I might also add that you need to pay particular attention to the anchor points and the pulleys along the way. Make sure they are all in good shape.
