Default Won't go Lo!

Hey guys! The old beast won't go down! The pump pushes like it would push it up (which it already is) but when I push the switch down, I get nothing. Got any ideas where to start?

I pull the safety release cable, but cannot tell if it is releasing. I will Investigate.

By the way, I am filing this experience in the "Things you are glad to figure out at home" folder

Heath -

While you wait for some responses on this, you may want to take a look at this thread.

Please be sure to update us with any additional bits of information that you come across as you inspect your Hi-Lo.

Default Confirmed

The safety bar does raise when the cable is pulled. Does the pump trake power to lower too? I think that is my issue.

I Think I may be having same problem. Went camping this week-end, camper went up fine but now will not go down. Can hear motor run if push up, it also acted as if it wanted to relase. Any ideas?

Does the release cable work when you pull it? If the release cable is not able to pull the safetly latch, then the problem may actually be that the lift system, though making a bit of noise when you press the button, is not actually "lifting' the Hi-Lo off the safety latch, which as you knoe, is necessary before you can lower it.

Does the lift motor just grunt when you raise it, or is it strong and makes the required 'whine' noise. If not, then here's a post to get you started.

This may not be your problem, but we need to know about the safety latch before we can tell you more. Lets us know, and we'll help you figure it out

I had the same problem this past weekend. The roof went up as usual but when I tried to lower it it seemed only to go down about an inch or so on the left side. (opposit side from the door)

It made all the required whines plus my whine. This is a 1978 22ft that I have owned for about 4 years. I have it parked on some property and there is no way I would be able to get it out to civilization

I hope somebody can assist me as this is my "sanity spot" when I need to get away from the city.

I just found this web site and find it very informing. Thank you in advance.

alw--- Check the cables as one may have broke, the broken cable may be jamed or when one is broke the top twists and jams on the guide blocks and the top won't go down.

I'll drive up to the property this weekend and check out the cable. Thanks.
