Default Need a Better Tongue Jack

Howdy Folks!

My 1907T is equipped with a nasty Atwood electric tongue jack that I want to replace with a better product. See photo. This Atwood is horribly loud and sounds like an industrial metal shredder in action. It certainly must awaken every late sleeper in campsites. Lately now it sounds even louder than a couple years ago, like it's grinding hardened steel nuts into chips. In any case, I'd like to buy a new jack that's just as strong, but a lot more refined and quiet. Any suggestions...?

Lou

Default Power jack

Our first HiLo was a 1990 25ft. Classic. The power jack was very noisy. We just bought a new one. Found out later that the jack cover comes off for greasing. Look up your model on utube. Perhaps it has some life left in it. If you buy a new one it is an early Christmas present to yourself. Can't remember what brand it is. Our HiLo is stored away from our home. Read some reviews on Tongue jacks. I have ordered lots of parts from PPL Motor homes in Texas.

I took off the jack plastic cap and greased all the various gears, then reassembled everything. It's just as disturbingly, grindingly loud! There must be a better jack.

Default Tongue Jack

Sounds like a gear is worn out.

I just replaced my old lip pert with a rec pro 3500. It’s pretty simple to install and seems to work great

My 1908T came with an Ultra-Fab 3502 jack. In my ignorance, I totally neglected it. Left the cap off and it filled with water. It turned into a nasty rusty mess inside. And it still works great! Seems pretty bullet/idiot proof. I will say the little lights are useless.
